  Sister's Committee     Minimize

Welcome to IACC Sisters Committee Home Page

Chairperson : Saadia Ahmad

The Sister's Committee consists of women from all different backgrounds who work to cater to the needs of everyone, especially sisters, who attend our masjid. There are two major roles that the Committee plays:

·        Work in conjunction with the Shura Council and various planning committees on major masjid-wide events, such as open houses, new Muslim classes, Ramadan and Eid activities, educational seminars, and fundraisers. This requires us to do volunteer recruitment, marketing, beautification of our masjid, outreach as well as many other tasks.

·        In addition to major masjid-wide events, the Sister's Committee also coordinates education, social service, and community service projects, specifically for sisters.  Some of the events we have held include an anger management workshop, a janaza-ghusl training, a parenting workshop, a women's health seminar, created a team to participate in the Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure walk, Crop Walk, collecting items for new refugees to the area, volunteered at Humanitarian Day, and hosted various scholars to help us gain more knowledge.

The Sister's Committee plays a vital role in making sure our masjid caters to the needs of all those who attend it and serving the greater DFW area.

On behalf of the Sister's Committee, I invite YOU to join as a volunteer.  Together, we can continue to make our masjid one of the most active masjids in the country.

Jazak Allah Khair for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Walaikum salaam,

Saadia Ahmed

  Hadith of the Day

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: He who alleviates the suffering of a brother out of the sufferings of the world, Allah would alleviate his suffering from the sufferings of the Day of Resurrection, and he who finds relief for one who is hard pressed, Allah would make things easy for him in the Hereafter, and he who conceals (the faults) of a Muslim, Allah would conceal his faults in the world and in the Hereafter. Allah supports His slave as long as the slave is supportive of his brother
